ACUPUNCTURE

Discover the Healing Power of Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for centuries.

It's based on the theory that energy, called chi, flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians. Acupuncturists believe that illness occurs when something blocks or unbalances your chi flow. Acupuncture is a way to unblock or influence chi and help it flow back into balance.

Acupuncture treatment involves putting very thin needles into your skin at certain points on your body called acupuncture points along energy channels called meridians. This is done to influence the energy flow. Sometimes heat, pressure, or mild electrical current is used along with the needles to enhance the effect.

The needles are sterilised, disposable and single use, they are incredibly fine and mostly pain free to apply as they don’t cut the skin like a needle that gives an injection.

Acupuncture, along with Chinese Herbal medicine, are five-year university courses in Australia and all practitioners must be registered by the Australian Government agency AHPRA.
